The site is run by Dmitry Vostokov who aside from all other things is a prolific writer and publishes quite a few books at Opentask.

According to Wikipedia they are best known for “sampler-processed vocals, deep bassline dub, trip-hop elements, bossa grooves and smoothly-shaped echoes”. Right, that’s all there is to their music. Not enough? You must be kidding. To me they are best known for this compilation which is 10 years old. That’s right, ten years old. Does not matter – It still sounds fresh and crisp.

I like engineering. And some art too. But I like engineering even more. Martin Buttrich is a German sound engineer best known for his collaborations with the progressive star Timo Maas. Personally I prefer his own productions as there is much less of a commercial gloss and this is truly very cleverly constructed and intelligent sound that is very subtle and meaningful. Spend some time with his works and be sure to check out these two singles – Cloudy Bay and Hunter

LCD Soundsystem is a musical project of the NY-based producer James Murphy. This is really pop music probably. Or dance punk. Or maybe it is electro disco. Or… house? Oh, I don’t know… this is not important, it’s all of the above. What is important is the amount of hits this project shelled out to the scene including “Daft Punk is Playing at My House”, “Tribulations”, “Someone Great is Gone”, “North American Scum”, ’Get Innocuous!".

If there was an example of what I don’t want to be when I am old it would be Mr Richard Stallman.

I really respect the guy very much for all the GNU and Linux stuff. I apologize – I never saw the guy and would like to avoid him in the future if possible really.
